Search the internet for news articles from past decades about a past epidemic. The epidemic that you choose to write about may have taken place in the United States or anywhere in the world. Examples of this include the SARS epidemic in Asia or the Cholera outbreak in Haiti.
Summarize the article and describe what happened. 25%

Describe the history of the disease.
Briefly describe the pathophysiology, and the signs and symptoms of the disease
Apply all three parts of the epidemiological triangle: What was the agent? Who were the hosts and what host factors contributed to contracting the disease? Describe the environment in which the epidemic took place.
Address the following issues with regard to the disease entity you’ve chosen: Communicability, Prevalence (provide statistics)
Discuss the factors that contribute to the spread of the disease
Identify three evidence-based management modalities
Discuss the status of the disease as compared with the objectives and goals in Healthy People 2020
