Mohamed is a twenty-year-old young man who wants to go to Barcelona very much to see his team play. His father promised him he could go if he saved up the money for it himself. So Mohamed worked hard at his job in ADNOC distribution and saved up the money it cost to go on the trip, and a little more besides. But just before going to Spain, his father changed his mind. His father wanted to buy an expensive present for his new wife, and Mohamed’s father was short of the money it would cost. So his father told Mohamed to give him the money he had saved from his job. Mohamed’s father had abandoned his first wife, Mohamed’s mother, when Mohamed was 12 and hadn’t given them any money since he had left. Mohamed didn’t want to give up going to Barcelona, so he thinks of refusing to give his father the money.
