To successfully complete this assignment, you will be expected to create a draft of your final paper using the framework of the Annotated Outline and Annotated Bibliography for Part 1 – Analysis of Work Environment and Part 2 – Analysis of Ethical Dilemma completed in the Unit 5 Annotated Outline and Bibliography assignment. Include the outline as headings in your paper where you discuss the topic.

 

Assignment Requirements

 

To achieve a successful course project experience and outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements:

 

Number of pages: The total number of pages (including Part 1 and Part 2) for the paper would be between 15–20 pages.

 

References: Your reference list must include at least 10 sources. At least eight references must be from peer-reviewed academic journals. Refer to the Capella Online Writing Center’s APA Style & Format module for more information. Please refer to Capella Library resources to see how to search in the library for peer-reviewed journal articles.

 

Written communications: Develop accurate written communication and thoughts that convey the overall goals of the project and do not detract from the overall message. Your paper should demonstrate graduate-level writing skills.

 

Formatting: Use APA 6th edition formatting, including: correct in-text citations, proper punctuation, double spacing throughout, proper headings and subheadings, no skipped lines before headings and subheadings, proper paragraph and block indentation, no bolding, and no bullets. Refer to the Capella Online Writing Center’s APA Style & Format module for more information.

 

Use this outline as a basis for your paper:

  1. Identify a potential or current work environment, and describe your professional role within that environment. Include the reporting structure within that professional role; who you supervise and who supervises you.
  2. Describe the population you will serve in your professional role, including diversity of the population. Social and cultural diversity should be addressed along with any other relevant diversity issues.
  3. Identify the appropriate code of professional ethics for the work environment. Describe the requirements of that ethical code including requirements regarding:Investigate any legal requirements or accepted standards of practice in the chosen setting that are not included within the ethical code for the profession.
    • Informed consent.
    • Customer rights.
    • Confidentiality.
    • Dual relationships.
    • Fees for service.
    • Use of distance technology.
    • Any other issue that might surround your hypothetical ethical dilemma.
  4. Evaluate the function of the work environment in relation to the legal, ethical, and accepted standards of practice for that setting.
  5. Use proper grammar and demonstrate a level of writing expected of a graduate-level learner.
  6. Follow the rules for citations and references found in the 6th edition of the APA publication manual.
